Results Round Five

Results Round Five

Thanks to all the teams that attended the event at the weekend, it was awesome day...i really enjoy the banter with all the Southern teams and especially Yorkie and his Missus Jackie.

Thanks to Yorkie for giving us the use of the astro turfed fields, they are amazing, just incase anyone hasnt had the pleasure of using one of his fields, they have levelled themselves off and they weren't slippy under foot.

Thanks to the marshalling for yet again performing 100%, it was a difficult field to marshal with so many blind spots and it looked like there were more barricades than the normal Millennium field.

Results for the weekend are as follows with series points earned in brackets followed by game points awarded on the day.

UK Southern Masters – Round Five
1st (501) – London Defiance Homeguard – 675
2nd (495) – Evil Addiction – 666
3rd (489) – Samurai M.V – 506
4th (483) – Samurai Rage – 496
5th (477) – Sabotage – 416
6th (471) – Samurai – 327
7th (465) – Sabotage Mixie – 242
8th (459) – Bones Brigade - 112

I am looking forward to seeing you again so soon the last round being held on the 29th August which is the bank holiday weekend...

A reminder that Shoot The Rainbow event is on the 25th and 26th September at Matlock in the Peak District, i will be running the Paris layout and the World Cup layout for those planning to play either of these events. Please look at playing this amazing event i promise it will be worth the trip...

That means if Rage had taken the 1v1 offered from their last game and won they could have snaffled a trophy from the other samurai team. Thought it was a tad silly taking 0 rather than try for 75 points...

As i explained at the time. The reason we didnt take a rematch one on one. Is because we had this before in the 2007 season. We had already won the game but the marshalls wanted to replay part of the game, To put right some bad calls. Anyway we had two players go back on the field for a two on two. And due to biased and bad marshalling we lost when we should of won. This cost us the series in Div 1.

Good or bad decisions made by the marshalls should be stuck by in my opion. The only time that a rematch or a one on one should be done. Is when team draw and you cant get a winner by using game point.

Just to point out that on this day the marshalling was top notch, the guys took their time in getting it right.

Fair enough, all i heard was you didnt want to play the point in the end (before that last i heard was a 1 v 1 was all good from both parties) In Peters defence he called it as it would have been in the rule book a hit player at the end of the game would cause a 1 4 1. However as per Wendy's decision before the start of the day if this was in game the player would have just been pulled. All i was getting at was that had you played this and won, youd have taken 3rd. Then end result was the best anyway 0 points for both team as it was a draw game.
