Personally, im with the cash pool.

Coming to a tourney for teams without sponsorshop is a heafty payment.
With the chance to win a bit of cash at the end, seems a whole lot better.

And i'm quite sure a team wouldn't mind putting in £2 per player with a chance to win about £90?

Smart idea. :)

the only problem with adding money is it would get a lot more serious... teams would enter teams well below there skill set to get there money back and suddenly, that game where 2 of your players get questionable 1-4-1's and costs you to lose the event mean alot more than just a smaller trophy... i think bringing money in as a prize will only drag the sport down, when we have some sort of official reff'ing organisation in place then yeah, but as we heavily rely on players who might not ref on a regular basis (this is not a ref bash, i know how hard marshalling is at a recreational level, i can guess how tough the job they do is and they do it very well) then it might be an idea to keep any sort of money out of it, even if it to only £2 per player as it all add's up

back on topic of what to do for the future, i think what ever happens it needs to bring people/teams to events even if just to watch. DJ/music and videos are probably good as they can be done cheaply, as for a second field that's marshalled would be impossible, but if its an all day event then just an open field to practice snapping on would be good. marshals have to be paid and would only raise the event cost. same as with doing 1 man knock out's ect, all more marshals and more cost's

I like your thinking on this matter I am sure it would increase the ammount of spectators at events. Not sure they would be watching the paintball though still it's an idea that requires further investigation I propose to visit a local pole dancing establishment to do research.

If they entered below their skill set, they wouldn't get their money back..they'd probably loose :S
Yes money makes it a bit more serious but isn't that what alot of us want to do as well as have fun, play a bit of serious paintball.
Coming home with a trophy and a cash pool. Seems pretty rad.

But then questionable 1 for 1s happens, from Pro to KoTH
